In the bustling halls of the WEF Annual Meeting 2023, Ali Omar and Isa Tariq found themselves deep in conversation about the Gulf region’s economic future. Amid panels on technological innovation and economic diversification, they recognized a glaring issue: traditional investment models were stifling opportunities for emerging entrepreneurs. This shared frustration with the region’s rigid investment landscape sparked an idea that would soon materialize as GulfX Capital—a venture to champion innovation and empower the next generation of entrepreneurs. Within a year, what started as an idea at the WEF soon became a movement as GulfX launched its first flagship fund. Entrepreneurs who had previously struggled to break through barriers found an ally in GulfX.
